Dr.
Caroline Davey PhD
Caroline Davey PhD
is Senior Research Fellow working within the Design and Innovation
Group, University of Salford. A qualified organisational psychologist,
she has led major UK and European funded projects to promote
equality, financial inclusion, crime prevention, partnering,
lifelong learning and competitiveness amongst SMEs. Dr Daveys
published journal articles focus on the social impact of innovation
and design, She is currently the project manager for the case
studies on design and crime prevention, commissioned by the
UK Home Office. She is also the project evaluator for work on
community finance and action learning.

Prof.
Rachel Cooper
Rachel Cooper is Professor of Design Management at the University
of Salford. She leads a research group in Design and Innovation and
undertakes research into Design, Design Management and New Product
Development. Professor Cooper is Editor of the Design Journal. She
was a Judge for the Millennium Products which were included in the
Millennium Dome and exhibited through the Department of Trade and
Industry and Foreign Office. In January 1999, she was appointed by
the Rector of the Royal College of Art to be advisor to the newly
created Helen Hamlyn Research Centre. Professor Cooper undertakes
funded research work for the Design Council and the Engineering and
Physical Science Research Council. Professor Cooper has published
4 books in the area of Design and over 100 academic papers.

Dr
Joanne Heeley
Dr Joanne Heeley has a PhD in Design, and has worked for the previous
three years on DTI projects concerned with implementing new thinking
in design, creativity and new product development for the fashion
and textiles industry and has published widely in these areas. She
is consultant on creativity and innovation to North West Arts and
currently undertaking work with Professor Cooper for the Design Council
on design in Government Department case studies.
