  • 14-19 education – ‘University A-levels’ suggested (BBC, 21 May 2009)
    Universities should work together to design replacements for A-levels, the Conservatives have suggested.
  • e-Learning – The e-Learning Show podcast is now available (JISC, 21 May 2009)
    The e-Learning Show included a live panel discussion near the end with Oleg Liber (University of Bolton’s Professor of eLearning), Claire Newhouse (LLN National Forum) and Andrew Ravenscroft (Professor of Technology Enhanced Learning, London Metropolitan University).
  • Higher education – Student complaints rise sharply (BBC, 19 May 2009)
    The university adjudicator for England and Wales received 900 complaints from students in 2008 – a rise of 23% on 2007 – but just 7% were upheld.

    Students who graduate from university this summer should look for jobs in call centres, shops and restaurants, according to the Government.
