Journal of Media Enhanced Learning

JMEL is an online journal aimed at fostering academic innovation in the development of media enhanced learning in post-compulsory education. You can access JMEL here.

Media, in the context of JMEL, refers to digital and social media produced and used by teachers, tutors, students and/or others who make up the learning community. In JMEL media includes the recorded voice, visual representation of ideas and activity, and presentation and exchanges captured and distributed using audio, video, screencasting, photography, graphics, social media and smart personal technologies. This is a hard to define and continuously evolving area – one which JMEL aims to reflect.

JMEL provides a platform for academic innovators, internationally, to present ideas and evidence from emerging practice and thinking to inspire new approaches to using digital and social media for enhancing and transforming teaching and learning.
