Welcome

Welcome to the home page of the National Evaluation of the New Deal for Communities (NDC) Programme funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit of the Department for Communities and Local Government. New Deal for Communities is one of the most important ABIs ever launched in England. It is a flagship component to the Government's National Strategy for Neighbourhood Renewal and is designed to help close the gaps between these 39 areas and the rest of the country. The evaluation is being carried out by a consortium of organisations led by Professor Paul Lawless at the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR), a Research Institute at Sheffield Hallam University.

This website is intended for all those interested in the evaluation of New Deal for Communities, and is particularly relevant to those working in and with New Deal for Communities Partnerships.

Phase 2 of the National Evaluation of NDC commenced in April 2006 and will run until November 2009. The evaluation is being funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit. For an overview of the evaluation click here.
