SYALL
South Yorkshire Access to Libraries for Learning
SYALL is an agreement between libraries and information services in South Yorkshire to provide public access to their collections for reference and study. It is part of the national Inspire scheme. SYALL provides two methods of publicising the access agreement to the public:
- The Libraryfinder Website which lists contact details as well as an 'Access Map' of subjects covered
- The Learners' Guide to Libraries Leaflet published annually in September listing contact details and describing each organisations' collections. The leaflet is distributed to SYALL members.
Walk-in access to University of Sheffield eResources
Non-University members registered as University of Sheffield Library users can access many of the electronic journals from the University’s portfolio (those electronic journals where the publisher permits access to authorised walk-in users). Access is provided via dedicated computers based in Western Bank Library, St George’s Library, and the Health Sciences Library at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and the Northern General Hospital. The SYALL Group is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the SYALL Agreement, publicity and training.
