How to join>> The club holds weekly training sessions at venues across Sheffield. It also organises a full programme of club events each year including the 10km Championship Race, the X-country Championship Race, the Road Race Championships, the Fell Race Championships, the Long Distance Strider, the Steel City Mile, the Sheffield Way Relay, the Dronfield Way Relay, the Curry Run and New Year's Eve Training Run. Gun times or chip times?
Following some confusion on this matter it should be noted that chip times aren't the official times so they don't count for records; they are just there for the runner's own benefit and interest. The official race time is the gun time. With that in mind the places and points for each event in the Road Race Championships and the Fell Race Championships are decided on the gun times and positions. Similarly club records should be the gun times.

Yorkshire Vets X-Country Champs, Doncaster - club entries......posted 2nd January 2012
Whilst veteran athletics may well be a side show at times, the last time we got teams out for this event we actually came back with some gongs! These championships include a mob match so the more athletes we get out the better. Entry fee is £4.50 paid for by the club. The venue is the Northern Racing College, outside Doncaster (the venue for the last South Yorkshire X-Country). The course is firm so fell/trail shoes would be ok as well as spikes. The women vets and the men vets over 50/60/70 start at 12 noon, the men vets 35 - 49 start at 1.15pm. If you want to run give your details to Pete Brown ring (0114) 2553324 or email Pete. Closing date is 11th February but don't leave it that late. Club vests should be worn unless we want to cause a fuss!....Details of the Yorkshire Vets>>
