What the club offers

Membership of Steel City Striders is open to anyone aged 18 and over who is interested in running. Junior membership is open to 8-17 year olds. (though the club doesn't have an active junior section at present) For an annual subscription you get the following:

* A quarterly club magazine: "Striders News"
* A monthly club newsletter
* Access to a network of weekly organised training sessions
* Free entry to all the club races and running events such as the 10km championship race, the cross country championship race, the road race championships the fell race championships and the Steel City Mile plus various social events
* A £2 reduction on the entry fee to all Uk Athletics affiliated races.
* Benefits of club affiliation to NoEAA such as insurance cover whilst training and eligibility to enter regional and national championships.
* Free club entry to the South Yorkshire 5 mile race series
* Free club entry to the South Yorkshire cross country league
* Free club entry to team races when representing the club

* The chance to meet and socialise with like minded runners
* The chance to share running experiences and injury stories!

What it costs to join the club

New members are welcome to join the club at any point during the year. Subs become due for renewal from 1st February each year. Members that renew promptly are rewarded with a reduced membership fee. See the table below.

How to join the club

Print a copy of the current membership form.
Complete the form and sign it.
Write a cheque for the appropriate amount made out to "Steel City Striders".
Send the completed form and the cheque to the club membership secretary Stewart Robinson to the address at the bottom of the form.

As with any club of this type membership applications accepted are subject to the approval of the club committee which meets monthly. See the Club Constitution for more details. See also Striders Development Plan 2009/2012>>

Committee Meetings

All current members of the club are welcome to attend any committee meeting. They are held at Norfolk Park Centre starting at 7.30pm. If you wish to attend it may be a good idea to contact one of the committee first to double check the date (just occasionally meeting do get cancelled or rearranged due to unforeseen circumstances).
