STEM Leaders Qualification

It's a real achievement to be an accomplished scientist, technologist engineer or mathematician - but how much more useful that is when combined with good personal skills and leadership capabilities.

That's where the STEM Leaders Qualification comes in...

The STEM Leaders Qualification is based on the BTEC Workskills programme of study and offers candidates the opportunity to gain accreditation for leadership skills they have developed in relation to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).

Schools, colleges and others can register candidates through Pearson Edexcel, who gain a certificate from Centre for Science Education of Sheffield Hallam University as evidence of their personal capabilities and leadership skills. Candidates able to demonstrate leadership (e.g. Year 11 students who support younger pupils in STEM Clubs) can gain credit for their skills.

The qualification is very flexible and can be delivered through schools, colleges, work based learning providers, employers and voluntary organisations. Registration with Pearson Edexcel is easy to organise for those who are not already an accredited centre.
