Government funding to boost numbers in higher education

We're delighted to announce that our partnership to help increase the number of young people across South Yorkshire going to university has been allocated almost £13 million government funding.

Social mobility foundation - funding available for selected Y12 students

The Social Mobility Foundation supports ambitious young people from less-privileged backgrounds into top universities and careers.

They run completely free of charge programmes featuring mentoring, internships with top companies, university application support, as well as professional development and skills workshops for high achieving young people across the UK.

Applications are now open.

The closing date is 9am, Monday 19th December 2016. For more information, please visit

Following the outstanding success of last year’s Apprenticeship Event, ‘Opportunity To Inspire 2015’, Skills Made Easy are running an event for you and your Year 11, 12 and 13 students, ‘Apprenticeship: Be Inspired 2016’.

Alex Bairstow has been appointed to the post of NNCO Programme Co-ordinator for the HEPP&CO network, covering South Yorkshire, North East Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire.

Looked after children go further go higher....

This year's Go Further Go Higher Summer School took place on 23rd - 25th June 2015 and centred on the theme of Law. The event was attended by 11 year 10 pupils currently under local authority care from Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley.
