Access to Higher Education

Two new Access initiatives, namely Valuing Learning and Fast Forward were developed during the last year in association with the South Yorkshire Open College Network. Implementation of these initiatives is currently underway.

Building Pathways is also working with OCN to develop new Vocational Access to HE programmes. Building Pathways has in the past supported new curriculum developments for Access to Nursing & Allied Health programmes. Our ambition is to develop new pathways in other curriculum / occupational areas, such as construction, engineering and other sectors with skills shortages and needs and demands for new employees with appropriate vocational qualifications.

Access Summer Schools have proved to be a success and are run in conjuction with the University of Sheffield.
