Students' understanding of social
and moral responsibility 3:
'Electing the course rep'

Introduction

'Electing the course representative' takes a look at the way a group of students became 'active citizens'. It shows students working together, collaboarating and cooperating in order to choose a candidate. Even though this is possibly the first time that some students feel 'responsible' for making a decision about representation, it shows democracy at work. As active citizens, this might be the first time that students have experienced a democratic process. A mature learner describes how he would like the process of electing a course rep to be handled Transcript - Mature learner, and secondly a short video about choosing a course representative.
