"Newport Girls' High School is a high performing selective girls' grammar school, with specialisms in Mathematics, Computing and Science. We decided to offer the Level 2 BTEC Qualification as a lunchtime club option for our best Y10 Science and Mathematics students. Over the last three academic years 87 students have taken part in the scheme with almost all of them achieving a pass. The feedback from the students and subject staff in our school and others has been overwhelmingly positive. We plan to extend the Leadership Qualification beyond STEM subjects."

"Painsley Catholic College is a high performing (HPSS) Specialist Science, Maths and Computing College in a semi-rural location close to Stoke-on-Trent. Painsley became a lead hub school for the SLQ in the county after achieving STEM Pathfinder School status from the SSAT in 2008-9. The SLQ has had a big impact on the students completing the course, the staff involved, other students and across the school. Parents think very highly of the SLQ, commenting that it has enriched their child's school experience and broadened their horizons."

"The Weston Road Academy is a Specialist Mathematics and Computing school. It is an 11-18 academy with approximately 850 pupils, situated on the edge of Stafford. The SLQ was launched at a leadership enrichment morning for 20 Year 8 G&T pupils. Two cohorts later, I have come to the conclusion that the impact of SLQ at Weston Road is very significant for those directly involved. All of the pupils who completed the course enjoyed it and were very motivated to gain the award. From the school's perspective, success has been measured by the number of pupils obtaining the qualification, attendance and pupils completing work independently."
