Learners
What is Higher Futures?
Higher Futures is a partnership of 12 colleges and universities across South Yorkshire, North East Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire, dedicated to improving progression opportunities to higher education for vocational and work-based learners.
Who can benefit?
We focus on five priority sectors:
- Early years education
- Engineering
- Health and social care
- Public wellbeing
- Sustainable communities
All learners on advanced (Level 3) vocational or work-based courses related to these sectors can benefit. As can adults in the community, whether currently employed or not, who are interested in entering higher education in these areas. We can also provide support for students already in higher education.
What are the advantages?
Learners can benefit from a network of educational contacts across South Yorkshire, North East Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire. Higher Futures has a named contact in each college and university, who will offer support with progression and applications to higher education courses, and can liaise directly with the other organisations in the region on behalf of the individual learner.
