Futsal - Mens League
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. FIXTURES
The named Team Organiser will be responsible for ensuring that his team fulfils all the fixtures at the correct times and for advising his players of their match times/dates. If for any reason, a team cannot fulfil a fixture, the League Hallam Co-ordinator should be informed at least 1 day in advance. Failure to turn up for a match at the stated time will result in an automatic 5-0 defeat and deduction of 1 point.
All matches will take place in the Pearson Buildings Sports hall.
2. SQUAD
Teams can name a squad of up to 7 players, all of whom can play during a match. Only 5 players may play at any one time, one of whom must be a goalkeeper. Teams can use an unlimited number of rolling substitutions. Players must enter and leave the field of play from behind their own goal line. Players may only play for one team in the Competition.
3. MATCH TIME
Each match will be 10 minutes each way with a 2 minute half time during which teams must change ends. Teams will be allowed 5 minutes warm up before each match. All matches must start at the stated time. Team Captains must check in with the referee at their stated start time.
4. PLAYING KIT AND FOOTBALLS
All players within a team must wear shirts of identical or similar colours. Players must ensure that they wear appropriate footwear.
A match ball will be provided by the referee.
5. START OF PLAY
Each half of the game will start with a kick off from the centre spot. Captains should toss a coin to decide ends and kick off. After a goal is scored the game will be restarted by the opposing team from the centre spot.
6. BALL IN AND OUT OF PLAY
In order to restart the game after a ball has gone out of play the ball is kicked back into play from the touchline and from corners. The ball must be placed stationary on the touchline and the feet of the player taking the kick-in must not cross the line.
7. THE FOUR SECOND RULE
For kick-ins, free kicks, goal clearances and corner kicks the player in possession of the ball has 4 seconds to restart play which the referee will count with their fingers in the air. If play isn’t restarted within four seconds an indirect free kick will be awarded to the opposing team. The goalkeeper is not allowed to control the ball for more than 4 seconds in his own half.
8. GOALKEEPERS AREA
Goalkeepers are allowed to come out of and players are allowed to go into the penalty area. A goal clearance must be thrown out and the goalkeeper cannot touch the ball again until it has crossed into the opponents half or a member of the opposition has touched the ball.
9. FOULS
Each team will be allowed to give away 5 direct free kicks in each half, then on the sixth foul a direct kick is awarded to the opposing team and the defending team is not allowed to position any players (other than the goal keeper) between the ball and the goal. The kick may be take from the 10m mark or, if the foul was committed closer to the goal than the 10m mark, then the kick may be taken from the position where the foul took place.
Sliding tackles are not allowed in Futsal but players ARE allowed to slide on the pitch, for example to stop the ball from going out of play. For a player sliding to be considered an offence, the tackler’s opponent must have possession of the ball.
10. TIME OUTS
Each team is allowed a one-minute time out in each half lasting 60 seconds.
11. COMPETITION ARRANGEMENTS
All fixtures, results and other notices will be communicated via the website- http://extra.shu.ac.uk/leaguehallam and will also be posted on the League Hallam notice boards at Collegiate Campus (Pearson Building).
