The Integrated Business Education Resource project
The TIBER (The Integrated Business Education Resource) project aims to design, develop and evaluate a web based learning resource modelled on a company meeting the needs of a range of subject areas and expertise in Business education. It will simulate the complexities of a modern business with many interdependent and inter-related functions and processes.
Delivery of the business curriculum tends to focus on fragmented academic discipline areas such as Operations, Marketing, Human Resources Management, Information Management and Finance. Students of business therefore often follow their course with a limited concept of the holistic nature of the area of study they are embarking on. TIBER proposes to offer an integrated framework on which these modular disciplines can hang.
There are three aims for the project:
- to achieve greater integration of the business studies curriculum
- to improve the students' learning through their engagement and motivation
- to embed both of the above into common practice
