Aims

This international conference is designed to explore

the differing array of inflammatory and degenerative pathways that are involved in the development of osteoarthritis and various chronic neuro-immuno-inflammatory diseases
the efficacy of current anti-inflammatory therapies in these states

development of newly-evolving therapies involving biologics and small molecules

Scientific Programme

Focus

osteoarthritis: aetiology, pathogenesis, established and novel therapies
contrasting pathways of inflammation mediating different chronic inflammatory diseases, e.g. rheumatoid and related arthropathies, Alzheimer's and vascular dementia's, inflammatory bowel diseases, cardiovascular disease, multiple sclerosis and other demyelineating conditions
inflammatory and apoptotic pathways in chronic inflammatory diseases and cancers
prophylaxis of neurodegenerative, cancers and cardiovascular diseases focussing on the chronic anti-inflammatory mechanisms of NSAIDs, nutraceuticals and natural products and novel targeted drugs/biologics
therapeutic potential for adult stem cells, transplantation therapies in chronic inflammatory and degenerative diseases

CME Accreditation

Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation is provided through King's College Hospital Medical School, University of London. Delegates requesting CME hours will be provided with certification of attendance.

Late Submissions

The organisers welcome late submissions for poster presentations up until 16 April 2003. These should be submitted electronically to Professor K D Rainsford. Abstracts should be submitted according to the procedures described in the 'Instructions for the Preparation of Abstracts'.
