NEW NEW NEW !!!Progressing to Higher Education through Vocational Pathways
Vocational Routes to Higher EducationThe partnership has agreed to focus on the needs of learners from Business and Computing programmes with a view to raising aspirations and supporting learners from vocational Level 3 programmes to progress to Higher Education. A range of activities has been undertaken including: clarifying progression routes to local programmes; cross institution visits including the use of student ambassadors to college tutorial sessions; work with the Business and Education-South Yorkshire organisation to develop vocational master-classes, and the development of a joint FE-HE curriculum group for staff. During the academic year 2004 -5 adetailed programme of activities was agreed and implementation commenced in October 2004. A programme of activities has been developed for Business students and one for Computing students, to promote the option that these students can access higher education. A project developed by Dearne Valley College to raise aspirations with Travel and Tourism Level 3 learners has achieved successful outcomes.
