Transmission
Print Portfolio
To compliment and extend the dissemination of Transmission: Speaking and Listening public lecture programme, invited artists were asked to produce a limited print or multiple which responded to the themes of the Transmission series. Andrew Sneddon adopted the role of both curator/collaborator in facilitating the production of the project alongside colleagues and students from the Fine Art Printmaking Department. The project provided a unique opportunity for the selected artists to consider the relationship between the visual, the textual and the spoken word within their practice. The exhibitions of the portfolio Domo Baal and Redux Projects in London and Haus am Lutzowplatz in Berlin provided a platform for emerging, mid-career and well-established artists to exhibit together. Many of the artists had never produced prints or multiples; the portfolio provided them with a unique opportunity to consider their own practice and aesthetic in terms of an unfamiliar discipline and medium. Two volumes of Transmission Portfolio have been published to date.
