Experience Sheffield

With a population of 600,000, Sheffield is one of the largest cities in the UK and a major city in the County of Yorkshire. Founded by the Anglo-Saxons before the 9th Century, Sheffield's growth accelerated during the Industrial Revolution when it emerged as Britain's leading industrial centre for cutlery.

The highly adhesive Sheffield Plate, crucible steel, stainless steel, 18/8 steels, and the first industrial production of steel by the Bessemer conversion process were all invented in Sheffield and are featured in the Kelham Island Industrial Museum.

Historical buildings, extensive nightlife, theatres, gardens, and the natural beauty of Britain's first national park, the Peak District, are all within easy reach.
