Being a professional

HPC logo

Being a professional means acting in a professional manner both in practice, at University and in your private life. To practice you will, when qualified, be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and actively adhere to their code of conduct.

The HPC is a regulator that protects the public. They keep a register of health professionals who meet the required standards for training, professional skills, behaviour and health. The HPC currently register over 200,000 professionals from a range of professions.

For a full list of the other professions regulated by the HPC can be found on the HPC website. Many of these professions work alongside ODPs in a multidisciplinary team to provide quality patient care.
